PEUGEOT 3008

Peugeot 3008

As far as SUVs go, the Peugeot 3008 is a bit of a glamorous starlet, but as any Hollywood A-lister will (quietly) tell you, to keep looking good you may need the occasional update.

Now, the Peugeot 3008 hasn’t quite been to a Brazilian back street clinic, but it’s had a series of nips and tucks for 2021 in a bid to help you distinguish it from the likes of the VW Tiguan, Skoda Karoq and Nissan Qashqai.

The old Peugeot 3008 had a fairly conventional front grille, but this new car gets a sweeping array of square chrome trim that stretches from one headlight to the other. There’s also a pair of new vertical daytime running lights on higher-spec cars – just like the ones on the new Peugeot 2008.

The interior is a familiar sight compared with the old Peugeot 3008, but that’s definitely no bad thing. It’s one of the most interesting-looking cabins of any SUV, and the quality is just as impressive as the way it looks. In front of the driver remains a 12-inch digital driver’s display, though all but entry-level Active models now get a 10-inch central infotainment screen, rather than the old car’s 8-inch system.

Controls are laid out in a fashion that wraps around you. Physical buttons to control the infotainment are pointed towards you, while a high-set centre console creates a comfortable, cocoon-like effect. Materials are of a very high standard as well, and everything feels solidly built. There’s plenty of choices to make your 3008 a little more you as well, including the option of red Nappa leather or black Alcantara-trimmed seats, with top-spec GT models also coming with lime-wood inserts.

Seat adjustment is fantastic, but the tiny, squared-off steering wheel can make seeing the digital display a bit of a nightmare for some — so you should definitely take a Peugeot 3008 for a test drive before committing to a purchase.

There’s lots left to be desired in the back row as well, where having three passengers might be a little too close for comfort.

Boot space for the Peugeot 3008 comes in at a generous 520 litres and it’s all very usable too, with a boxy shape and the lack of a lip makes sliding cargo in and out without having to lean down dead easy.

Active Premium

Active Premium cars feature an 8-inch infotainment system as standard, with support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Other highlights include cruise control, automatic wipers and headlights, dual-zone climate control, parking sensors and a reversing camera.

Allure

Allure models are well worth paying extra for over the basic model. On top of the equipment in Active models, such as cruise control, automatic wipers and headlights, plus dual-zone climate, the star bit of kit is an upgraded 10-inch infotainment system. The Safety Plus Pack brings lane keep assist, automatic high beams, and blind-spot monitoring, too.

Allure Premium

Allure Premium builds on the Allure grade, which already includes a 10-inch infotainment system, a 12-inch digital drivers display, cruise control and a load of safety goodies. Additional kit here includes keyless go, blue ambient interior lighting and aluminium roof rails — and packs the most value for your money.

GT

GT trim packs a huge amount of kit into the 3008. As well as the 10-inch infotainment, 12-inch digital drivers display and safety assists like blind spot monitoring and lane keep assist, the headline piece of tech is its adaptive cruise control. Automatic emergency braking is added too, while style is turned up with 18-inch alloy wheels and full LED lights. This is the trim to have if you want a shedload of tech in

GT Premium

GT Premium crowns the 3008 range and is loaded with kit. All of the kit from prior trims, like the 10-inch infotainment, 12-inch digital drivers display, and safety assists like blind-spot monitoring, lane keep assist, and adaptive cruise control are thrown in. A 360 degree camera is added to the package, along with 19-inch alloys and a high-quality Focal audio system. Prices are sky-high though, so the equipment doesn't come without a cost.

Engines available with 1.2L & 1.6L Petrol , 1.5L diesel , 1.6L hybrid
